The New York Knicks will face off against the Houston Rockets in the inter-conference showdown from Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, this Friday night. The Rockets have defeated the Knicks 114-110 as 8-point favorites at Madison Square Garden earlier in the season and are listed as massive favorites to beat them again on this one in front of the home audience, as the Knicks are trying to stay bottom of the league. NBA: Friday, April 5, 2019, Toyota Center, Houston, Texas, 8:00 PM ET
The Knicks have dropped eight straight games on the road
The New York Knicks (15-63; 30-45-3 ATS) are coming off a 114-100 defeat at the Orlando Magic this past Wednesday, recording their eighth consecutive loss away from home. The Knicks shot 44.7% from the field, making just six triples out of 27 attempts from deep while allowing 19 offensive rebounds to their opponents. Mario Hezonja had a good game, posting 29 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field along with nine rebounds and five assists. The Knicks are still the worst team in the league 2.5 games behind the Suns, looking to stay bottom of the standings until the end of the season in order to get the most lottery picks.

They are allowing 113.8 points per 100 possessions (28th in the league) on 46.9% shooting from the field (23rd).
The Rockets are searching for their fifth straight win
The Houston Rockets (51-28; 38-38-3 ATS) are on a four-game winning streak following a 135-103 victory at the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. The Rockets completely outplayed the Clippers, making 53.4% of their field goals including 18 treys out of 38 attempts from deep and posting ten rebounds more than the hosts. James Harden had another big night, accounting for 31 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 9-of-15 from the field. Chris Paul added 29 points and seven dimes, while Clint Capela posted a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds. The Rockets are holding the No. 3 seed in the West just half a game ahead of the Trail Blazers, so they have to continue with a strong performance.
James Harden is leading the way for the Rockets this season, averaging 36.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game. The Beard has dropped 61 points on the Knicks in their previous meeting on the season. - 5-1 SU and ATS in the last six games overall
- 12-6 ATS in the last 18 meetings with New York
- 7-3 ATS in the last ten outings as double-digit favorites
New York Knicks:
- 0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS in the last six games on the road
- 0-6 ATS in the last six outings as double-digit underdogs
- 1-5 ATS in the last six road meetings with the Western Conference
The Rockets are playing in a good form at the moment, doing a great job on both sides of the floor. The Knicks will have a tall task to deal with the Rockets’ defense that has improved lately, so I’m backing the hosts to cover this massive spread. Also, the Knicks have been terrible against the spread recently, especially when playing on the road.
Betting Pick: Houston Rockets -16.5 (-110)
